20 Years Reforestation of Bukit Hari highlighted the restoration efforts in 75 ha Bukit Hari Experimental Sites following extraction and clearing of old Pinus stands established in the early 1955 to 1960s. The extraction were limited to Pinus stands at the foot of Bukit Hari leaving some areas on the upper hill remained as greenery landscapes. The reforestation works started in 1996 / 1997 observing, maintenance and studying the growth of the established stands for 20 years. The established stands comprised mixed planting of several natives and exotic including Shorea leprosula, Shorea roxburghii, Shorea platyclados, Neobalanocarpus heimii, Hopea odorata, Dyera costulata, Azadirachta excelsa, Endospermum malaccense, Neolamarckia cadamba, Khaya ivorensis and Eucalyptus hybrid. As the stands progressed and field information gathered, has provided us the new generation planted forests stands, the growth and yield potentials for selection as forest plantation species and for future rehabilitation works.
