Proximate analysis is an important tool for understanding biomass and its potential in energy production. This study explores factors namely moisture content (MC), ash content, volatile matter (VM), and fixed carbon (FC) in several types of biomass, including Acacia mangium, Bambusa vulgaris and Neolamarckia cadamba. These components affect how efficiently biomass can be processed and how much energy it can produce. The findings highlight that each species exhibit a distinct composition, emphasising the importance of selecting the appropriate feedstock for energy applications. While proximate analysis has certain limitations, combining it with other advanced methods provides a more comprehensive understanding of biomass properties. This combined approach improves biomass conversion and supports the development of cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions for the future.
