FRIM is an R&D institution, and the fabrication of a full size glued-laminated timber bridge is not a task that is carried out very often by the staff. The last time such a project conducted was in 2006. Many of the staff who were involved in that project had since retired or moved on. It required meticulous planning and mobilisation of related staff to complete the project. The project involved the participation of almost all of the staff in the Forest Products Division. This book provides a pictorial record of the various stages in planning, preparation, processing, lamination, installation and finishing of the bridge. Some details on the technical input, decisions and actions are also highlighted.
