Forest plantations are increasingly important as an alternative source for timber and the trees, like other timber species, are not spared from insect pest attack. Regular surveillance to collect pest information can help in the early detection of potential problems and planning of effective approaches to control the pests besides complying with the phytosanitary measures related to timber trade. This host-pest list contains 332 insect pests recorded on 19 species of native and exotic fast-growing trees in Malaysia. Researchers, plant biosecurity officers, plantation managers and those involved in the timber trade may find this up-to-date list useful.
