Kelempayan Wood Properties and Uses: In support of the goverment's efforts in promoting sustainable forest management, Forest Research Institute Malaysia has been actively conducting research and development on the use of timber from plantation sources. Some of the plantation species previously studied were rubberwood, Acacia mangium, sesendok and Khaya ivorensis. This book publishes the latest research findings of kelempayan timber species carried out by researchers from Forest Products Division. The publication encompasses research areas which include kelempayan's anatomical and physical characteristics; mechanical and chemical properties; durability and treatability aspects; machining and finishing; and more importantly potential product development. This information is of utmost relevance as a reference for the Malaysian wood industry, academicians, government agencies, researchers and more importantly stakeholders in this field.
